Application for Homestead Patent Election Made - July 29, 1911

According to U.S. General Land Office records (now the Bureau of Land Management), an application to make the 5 year (homestead patent) election was filed on July 29, 1911. On April 27, 1912 the Deed Record Patent was approved by the U.S. General Land Office and on March 13, 1913 the deed was recorded in what appeared to be the Billings County records (Gerhard's farm later became part of Golden Valley County when it separated from Billings County).
