New homestead started south of Sentinel Butte, ND - May 19, 1906
According to Bureau of Land Management records, Gerhard entered his homestead agreement on May 19, 1906. At that time, Sentinel Butte was north of his homestead site. In about 1915 Golva, ND was founded approximately 6 miles west of this homestead site
